PROTECTED (temporarily)

PROTECTED (TEMPORARILY) documentary staged reading

Protected (temporarily) is a documentary theatre project exploring the lived experiences of displaced Ukrainians living in Norway. Through stories of waiting, bureaucracy, separation, language barriers, work, motherhood, isolation and loss of professional identity, it examines how a life defined as "temporary" gradually becomes a long-term reality shaped by continuous uncertainty about the future.

Based on recorded interviews, the performance transforms documentary testimony into a polyphonic theatre work where individual stories intersect and overlap. The staged reading explores the complexity of living between places, languages and different states of belonging - and what happens to our sense of home, identity and self when temporariness becomes life itself.
