MYHR MOBECK SAND + Jordan Sand solo
MYHR MOBECK SAND is an international trio comprised of Norwegian hardanger fiddler and vocalist Helga Myhr ("a stunning musician in many di?erent settings" - Jazz i Norge), Norwegian-Icelandic tuba player and electronic musician Heida K. J. Mobeck ("a highly original voice on tuba" - All About Jazz), and American bassist-vocalist Jordan Sand ("Joni Mitchell meets Ligeti" - Omaha Under the Radar). Together they weave dense, shifting polyphonies where folk, electronic, jazz, and classical idioms collide. Their debut album, recorded live in Oslo, is slated for release in autumn 2026.
Jordan Sand solo
Jordan Sand is a bassist, vocalist, and composer forging a rare path between song and experimental sound. Fusing voice with the resonance of bowed double bass, she creates overtone-rich textures that move between raw noise and fragile melody. Described as "impressive" (New York Times) and "JoniMitchell meets Ligeti" (Omaha Under the Radar), Sand honed her craft in New York City's folk, classical, and free jazz scenes while cultivating a solo world both intimate and expansive. As a soloist, she layersstring noise, siren-like singing, crooked melody, and harmonic strata into music that is haunting, virtuosic, and unexpectedly beautiful.
